ummm… interesting team. Andrew Goudelock can flat out score. He was lightning quick against the Tennessee athletes and he hit threes from way beyond the pro arc. He is simply fun to watch… and its not just him. They have another really solid guard in Monroe and a mismatch forward in Wiggins who is like a guard in a 6’7 frame. Add in three more 6’8 forwards who are athletes.. not huge.. and this team could really surprise. They pulllllled Tennessee’s defense out with long threes and then drove past them when they extended the defense. Their defense was solid. Bobby Cremins has a very serviceable team…
Vs Vermont: Goudelock not playing point guard and I think this helps them. Coach called pg Monroe the heart and soul of the team. Bigs recently took a hit and their bigs are light. Wiggins is a great complimentary scorer for Goudelock. Their offense stretches you out so thin, you better have athletes and some good recovery defense. Vermont was so stretched that CoC ate them alive. My Notes: The SoCon defensive player of the year has sat out the last 5 games with a blood clot in his arm and this team has had to adapt and adjust … and they have. The three guard lineup for this team is really really really solid. Add in a forward / guard who is rock solid and you have a team primed for an upset. Their current big man is light, no doubt, but the guard play of this team is fun to watch. If they get Simmons back, this team will more than likely win .. I said it.. their first round game.
