I covered the Austin Peay-Fairfield game on Saturday and saw two hidden gems who must be tracked. Fairfield’s Derek Needham is a jet and can be a game-changer. If the MAAC regular-season champs can win the conference tournament on their home court, Needham could be a tough matchup in the first round of the NCAA tournament. Austin Peay’s Will Triggs was recruited at a high level, but schools in the Midwest didn’t wait on his test score. Austin Peay did, and the Governors have a star-in-waiting who could be the next big thing in the Ohio Valley Conference.
