Vs Tx Southern: Texas Southern was big big big.. their guards were 6’7 but MVS plays a hectic, constantly in your face defense. They are nats everywhere and they rebounded well. They were disciplined rebounders, which I love. A fun team to watch and they fed off turnovers form TX Southern. Athletically, they had dunks all over despite being slightly short. other notes: Valley’s free throw shooting is strong. Terrence Joyner was ranked second in the league at 83.3 percent through Jan. 26, and D’Angelo Jackson was fourth at 78 percent. One of the secrets of Sean Woods’ success is having a relatively deep bench. Jackson led the team at 27.7 minutes per game through Jan. 26—and that was just 15th on the SWAC’s minutes-played list.130—3-pointers made by Mississippi Valley State. This is the kind of team that could really surprise come March Madness
